Ingredients
For the Rolls
- 2 QTee® pears
- 5 slices of dried ham (e.g., Ganda, Parma, or Serrano ham)
- 3 tbsp cream cheese
- 10 roasted hazelnuts
- Pepper
Serves: 4 people
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Preparation
- Peel the QTee® pears, but keep them whole. Then, using a vegetable peeler, cut long, thin slices from the pear (like ribbons) by peeling all around. Aim for about 5 ‘ribbons’ per pear. Place them carefully on a plate. For convenience, you can also use a mandoline for this step.
- Bring a generous amount of water to a boil in a saucepan and carefully place the pear ribbons into the gently boiling water. Let them cook for 5 minutes, then remove them. Place them on a plate or dish covered with paper towels and let them cool.
- Cut the 5 slices of dried ham lengthwise in half (to get 10 strips of ham).
- Making the rolls: Lay a pear ribbon flat on a work surface. Place a strip of ham on top. Spread the ham with cream cheese. Season with pepper and roll up the ribbon tightly. Repeat until all pears and ham are used.
- Place the rolls on a small dish and put a roasted hazelnut on each roll. Store in the refrigerator and serve as an appetizer, delicious with a glass of dry white wine.
